G.SKILL Adds 4600MHz CL19 Kits to Trident Z Series

Top memory performance is a priority for G.SKILL, hosting overclocking competitions at Computex annually. So it only makes sense that they are pushing the boundaries of consumer RAM performance as well. With their latest G.SKILL Trident Z series addition of 4600MHz modules, the fastest DDR4 modules to date. Each Trident Z module uses Samsung’s 20nm B-die memory IC, proven to be the best performing DDR4 ICs in the industry.

G.SKILL Trident Z: First 4600MHz and First 1.5V DDR4

The newest addition to the Triden Z series are also the first to use 1.5V with its XMP rated voltage. This is far from the 1.2V default and the largest chasm ever in terms of memory voltage from standard. Additional memory voltage often means higher power consumption and more heat. The former isn’t really an issue considering these kits are for the latest Kaby Lake-X and Sky Lake-X X299 HEDT platforms. The latter is taken care of by a substantial heatspreader, sporting a brushed metal finish. Users can choose between a darker color or a lighter color brushed aluminum.

These DDR4-4600 modules come with CL19 23-23-43 CR2 timings and in 16GB (2x8GB) dual-channel packages for now. G.SKILL did not announce any plans for an alternate RGB version for now. Understandably so, considering the stability requirements of pushing a module that far in performance is already hard enough.
