G.Skill Announces Cableless Trident Z RGB Series DDR4 Memory

We’ve fully reached the era of RGB features, there can be no doubt about that, and G.Skill naturally wants to be part of this new wave of hardware too. The company has just announced their own take on RGB memory modules in the form of the Trident Z RGB series of DDR4 memory modules that feature full RGB effects without the need for any extra cables to the modules. The new modules bare pure RGB lighting across an uncovered full-length light bar on the award-winning Trident Z series heat spreader design.
By default, the new G.Skill Trident Z RGB series will display a rainbow of colors in a wave-style lighting effect, illuminating any system with a myriad of hues. Further lighting effects and color customizations can be controlled and chosen through a software that’s scheduled for a February 2017 release.
The new memory modules are designed with a custom 10-layer PCB and hand-picked IC chips to enhance overclocking performance, allowing the Trident Z RGB series of reaching speeds of DDR4-4266MHz. That shows that the RGB lighting in this series will have minimal impact on the memory’s performance.
Just as with all their other memory modules, these have been rigorously tested to ensure stability and compatibility along with full support for the latest XMP profiles that allow for easy overclocking.
The new G.Skill Trident Z RGB series are scheduled for a worldwide release in the middle of January which will be shortly after the huge consumer electronics show in Las Vegas where I’m sure that we’ll get a first-hand look at these modules too.
At this time, there was no mention of kit capacity options nor prices, but we can expect these RGB modules to be priced slightly higher than the normal Trident Z modules already on the market with similar specifications.
