G.Skill announces the newest addition to their DDR4 RipJaws lineup with the DDR4 SO-DIMM Ripjaw series. The new modules come with great speeds of up to 2800MHz and in kit sizes up to 64GB. As all RipJaw memory modules, the new SO-DIMM series is also built with specially screened components, hand-picked from G.SKILL’s rigorous and highly selective binning process and tested to guaranteed maximum performance and reliability.

SO-DIMM modules are generally used in portable and small form factor system where power consumption is an issue, and DDR4 is a great thing for these systems. With the lower power consumption over DDR3 modules where they only consume 1.2V make them optimal for this scenario. The modules also feature auto-overclocking where the modules will be automatically overclocked when the memory modules are installed on qualified systems.

There are four different speeds in the new G.Skill RipJaws series and each speed is available in five different capacity kit sizes. With the increase in the kit speeds from 2133 to 2800MHz, the timings also change slightly as we can see in the chart below. Whether you choose 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB capacity in these new modules, they should be a solid choice for your SO-DIMM capable system.
