Just in case you need high-performance, high-capacity DDR4 with your new Intel Core i9-9980XE CPU, G.SKILL has options for you. They have launched two new DDR4 kits with frequencies north of 4000MHz, making them the fastest kit of their type currently commercially available. Both are also for their TridentZ RGB line.
The 64GB DDR4-4266 kit has 8 pieces of 8GB RAM modules with CL19-19-19-39 timings. Although since it runs at such a high frequency, it requires 1.45V instead of just 1.35V. As usual, this is compatible with Intel XMP 2.0 presets, so users can easily load it on their system. No need to fiddle with individual settings like with AMD platforms.
The 128GB DDR4-4000 kit on the other hand, contains 8 pieces of 16GB RAM modules with CL19-19-19-39 timing. These operate at 1.35V and also easily load via Intel XMP 2.0 presets.
Both these high frequency kits are of course, made possible only with hand-picked Samsung B-die ICs. Hynix ICs are often found in mainstream and entry level units, while Micron ICs are only found on Crucial and Ballistix memory modules.
For validation, G.SKILL used an ASUS PRIME X299-DELUXE II motherboard with the Intel Core i9-9920X and Core i7-9800X processors. As usual, providing screenshots of these kits running at the stated frequencies.
System builders interested would have to wait a bit more for these to arrive. Specifically, they will not start shipping out until Q1 2019.
