G.Skill Ripjaws MX780 RGB Laser Gaming Mouse Review

Introduction


When you think of the name G.Skill, I bet you think of memory products. That’s hardly surprising, as their Ripjaws memory are regarded as some of the best in the world and are loved by overclockers, system builders, modders and more around the world. All that is about to change, as G.Skill are taking the PC gaming world by storm, with a very exciting range of gaming peripherals that will change how you see the name G.Skill forever.

The first of their new products in the Ripjaws MX780 Gaming Mouse. Equipped with all the high-end features you could hope for, it’s build for everyone from pro gamers to those who just want something cool to use in the office.

“Ambidextrous design, interchangeable side grips, height-adjustable palm rest, on-board profile storage, adjustable weights, Avago laser sensor, Omron micro-switch, 8 fully programmable buttons and customizable 4-zone RGB backlighting. The RIPJAWS MX780 laser gaming mouse is designed and built with durability and practicality in mind for the ultimate gaming experience in glorious RGB lighting.”

As you can see, the specifications are certainly attractive, with a high-end sensor, 4-zone RGB lighting, on-board memory, adjustable weight and more!

The packaging is nicely designed, with all the main specs on the front, as well as a few details about the RGB lighting.

Around the back, a more detailed run down of the features, but let’s get it out of the box and take a much closer look.

In the box, you’ll find the owner’s manual, a couple of attachments, as well as the hard-wired mouse.

First up, we have an Allen key adjustment tool, as well as two 4.5G weights for tuning the mouse.

You’ll find two additional side mounts for the mouse, allowing you to tweak the ergonomics and even convert it to a fully left-hand mouse.

The cable is treated with a glossy black braided, which adds to the overall style and durability. It is finished off with a custom shape USB header and gold plating.
