GAINWARD is announcing two new additions to their lineup using the new GeForce GTX 1070 Ti GPU. One of this is a standard model while the other is a GAINWARD Phoenix variant.
While other manufacturers use a blower style fan for their standard model, GAINWARD uses a custom dual-fan cooling design. It measures 252 x 112mm and is exactly two-slots high. The fanblades use a sickle shape so that it runs quietly even at higher RPMs. Underneath the active cooling system is a triple copper heatpipe heatsink. This provides additional thermal headroom for the video card when overclocking. The fan can also automatically shut down when the load is low enough.
The GTX 1070 Ti Phoenix on the other hand has a distinct red and gold shroud and uses a larger heatsink underneath. Although it is a triple heatpipe cooler as well, the aluminum fins are partitioned into two units. Because of this larger heatsink, the GTX 1070 Ti Phoenix’ size is also larger at 285 x 133mm and is 2.5 slots thick.
Underneath the hood, the Phoenix version also gets an upgraded 8-phase VRM using Driver MOSFETs. This creates a more efficient layout while providing a more efficient power supply to the GPU. The GTX 1070 Ti Phoenix also has dual-BIOS so users can overclock to their heart’s content using GAINWARD’s Expert-Tool II software and revert back when needed.
