GALAX and KFA2 are teaming up to produce an external graphics enclosure containing a custom GeForce GTX 1060. The GALAX SNPR External Graphics Enclosure features a trimmed-down 6GB GTX 1060 and is usable out-of-the-box. Indeed, the GTX 1060 housed within is factory overclocked by GALAX, offering a base and boost clock of 1531MHz and 1746MHz, respectively.
The enclosure boasts Thunderbolt 3 connectivity for speeds of up to 40Gbps. In addition, cooling handled internally by two fans and three heat pipes. Finally, the SNPR enclosure sports a DVI-D port, HDMI port, and DisplayPort, to support up to three displays. However, the enclosure cannot be upgraded; you’ll have to make do with the integrated GTX 1060. Unless, of course, GALAX and KFA2 launch a range of suitable custom upgrade boards.
Sadly, we don’t have a specific release date for the GALAX SNPR External Graphics Enclosure With GeForce GTX 1060 6GB. However, we know the enclosure is out in the next few weeks, priced €499.
