GALAX has just revealed the marketing for their upcoming KATANA, the world’s first single-slot Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card! Clocking in at just 16mm thick, the design of the card is mighty impressive and could prove an incredible upgrade for those with limited space in their chassis.
Using what they call a “legendary turbo radiator” along with a warning sticker on the card that it may get pretty darn hot. We doubt this card will be particularly cool to run, but GALAX is obviously confident they’ve gotten it within the thermal limitations of the chipset, so it should still perform like a normal GTX 1070. Using a vapor chamber design, as well as a fairly large chunk of copper with plenty of heat fins, the card is said to “maintain cooling performance even in thermally challenging scenario(s)”.
You can expect clock speeds of 1518 MHz base and 1708 MHz boost, hopefully without too much throttling. The KATANA is powered by a single 8-pin power cable and offers up 1 x DisplayPort 1.4, 1 x HDMI 2.0b, and a DL-DVI-D port.
