With the Founders Edition of the GTX 1080 Ti available for sale, Nvidia’s partners are turning their eyes to their various custom models. Over the past week, we’ve seen teasers from the various manufacturers, in some cases multiple hints of what’s to come. The latest to join in on the frenzy is GALAX who is teasing their top end GTX 1080 Ti Hall of Fame Edition. This follows up on their earlier teaser of their GAMER series GTX 1080 Ti teaser. The GTX 1080 Ti is based on the GP102 die of course.
Compared to the GTX 1080 HOF, there are several noticeable changes. The most obvious is the fact that the crown logo over the centre fan is now LED backlit. The shroud also adds a slightly ‘crown’ looking protrusion as well and the corners are more radically cut and closer trimmed to the fan openings. We still have the same triple fan design but the fans are blurred out. Perhaps GALAX is updating their fan or fan blade design?
Moving on, we have the 2x 8pin PCIe power connectors which is a nice boost over the reference Founders Edition. This is likely needed due to the extreme overclocking allowed by the custom PCB which is noticeable wider than the reference model. There is some hint that there might be a DVI connector but it is hard to say. We also have the two standard SLI fingers as well. GALAX has not revealed the launch date, price or specifications at this point.
