GALAX is teasing the upcoming release of their RGB LED DDR4 memory called Gamer III. The new modules are an update to the original Gamer series which were only available in either Red, Green or Blue LEDs with matching color lid. Just last month, GALAX publicly showed off their overclocking and performance oriented Chrome HOF OC lab memory kit.
The new Gamer III memory modules on the other hand are more for aesthetic use with modest mainstream performance. Like the original LED Gamer series, the new RGB LED Gamer III will be available in 2400MHz CL15 speeds.
Like most recent RGB LED implementations, the Gamer III DDR4 is completely wire-free unlike some older solutions such as the GEIL EVO X. It is taller than the standard RAM like the original Gamer DDR4 line.
The new Gamer III’s heatspreader extends from the bottom all the way to the top edge, with the diffuser left open on the sides and top for light to freely emanate. The new design is also much sleeker looking and has a softer diffuser look.
GALAX has yet to announce which of the motherboard manufacturers will support controls or actual availability dates.
