Conclusion
Well, 2010 was a great battle between AMD and Nvidia. Both manufacturers managed to bring some nice improvements over the first DX11 generation cards.
We have seen price drops from Nvidia, big sales from AMD and new cards available in the market in Q4. Fermi cards are known for their pros and cons, they have been discussed the whole year, and Nvidia brought the GF104 which seemed a good step over the previous GF100.
Today with the introduction of the GTX580 card we can clearly see that they worked hard to bring this new single card king in the market. Nvidia improved what their Fermi’s were lacking and managed to produce a better performance card with less heat and less power requirements.
AMD on the other hand brought us their new 6000 series graphics cards showing us that they are still capable to deliver great products in the market, and we will wait for big improvements from them too.
At Christmas, what will it be under the tree then? Green or Red? The battle becomes more and more exciting.
