Game Max Draco Mid-Tower Chassis Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The Game Max Draco tempered glass PC gaming chassis is just £72.98. I think that is excellent value for money for what you get, and you could quickly eat into a lot of that price on its own just trying to buy four RGB 120mm fans. Add to that the inclusion of two pieces of tempered glass and the PSU shroud, and the price tag quickly becomes very competitive.

Overview

I really like the latest chassis from Game Max. There are minor faults, such as the tight cable routing space behind the motherboard, some of the poorly placed and none grommeted cable mounting holes, snap-off PCIe slots covers, and the cheap clip in mesh filter on the power supply air intake. However, these are minor faults and ones that shouldn’t hurt the overall desirability. If the price were £149.99, then I would be more concerned with these issues, but at less than half of that amount, I’m not going to knock it down, especially when the final build looks this good.

Everyone Can Afford RGB and Glass These Days

It was only a few years ago when the thought of a tempered glass RGB chassis with a price tag under £100 was crazy. Once again, Game Max has deliverer a competitively priced and visually impressive product that is sure to appeal to the gaming market.

With room for some water cooling in the front panel, as well as four pre-installed 120mm fans, which are going to give high airflow straight out of the box, cooling isn’t going to be much of an issue for most mid to high end builds. Add to that the extensive amount of room for extra-long graphics cards and even multiple graphics cards, and you’ve got a recipe for a decent gaming PC. The only main limitation with this chassis is storage, as there aren’t a lot of mounts, but there should be more than enough for most mid to high-end systems.

No Innovation, but Plenty of Value

The Game Max Draco doesn’t offer much in the way of innovation. It’s a design that similar to what we’ve seen from Game Max and a few other brands in the past. Of course, it’s still an excellent looking chassis, and once we completed our build, it looked fantastic. The Draco really shows off your hardware in all its glory. Innovation or not, if I can get a build that looks this good at a price that so kind to my wallet, I’ll take it.

Pros

  • Cool overall design
  • 4 x 120mm RGB fans pre-installed
  • Support 360mm radiator in front
  • PSU shroud built-in
  • Built-in fan/lighting hub with remote
  • Two tempered glass panels
  • Competitively priced

Cons

  • Snap-off PCIe covers
  • Limited cable routing
  • Mesh filter

“The tempered glass and RGB equipped chassis market is becoming extremely competitive. It’s great to see Gamemax come out swinging with such a competitively priced, yet great looking chassis. Perfect for the PC gamer who doesn’t want to spend a fortune, but still wants a chassis that stands out from the crowd.”
