Game Of Thrones Writer Reveals Further Wait For Next Book

Game of Thrones
For fans of Game of Thrones, we are all currently playing the waiting game. With the conclusion of the most recent TV series last year, we are left waiting for the next and final series. How will it all end?
For the books, however, George R. R. Martin, the writer assures us that progress is being made, but a release is still a long way off.
The Wind’s of Winter
What we do know, is the title of the 6th book, which will be again a 2-partner titled ‘The Wind’s of Winter’. The most important factor, a release date, is, however, still as vague as ever.
In a report via Polygon, George R. R. Martin said: “The first volume should be completed soon. The second is hardly begun. Most of Fire & Blood consists of the ‘sidebars’ I originally wrote for The World of Ice and Fire. Abridged versions of some of those pieces appeared as ‘The Princess and the Queen,’ ‘The Rogue Prince,’ and ‘The Sons of the Dragon,’ but these are the full versions, together with some chapters that have never appeared anywhere.”
When do we think it will be released?
The problem that Game of Thrones currently has is that the TV series has now rocketed ahead of the books. The source material for the TV show ran out around season 5 and since then, with some input from George R. R. Martin, have pretty much been given a free hand to proceed as they see fit.
In regards to the release of the book though, it has insanely been nearly 7 years since the last instalment. Despite this, one could hope for a release in 2019, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Why has he not finished it yet?
A fair question. In the past, Mr Martin has usually taken 4-5 years to write the next instalment. At present, as above, we’re currently at 7 years and counting. He has, however, been very busy since the TV series launched. While the books were moderately popular before, the TV series blew up his celebrity status as well.
Hopefully, we don’t have to wait too much longer, but all I can say is that after 7 years, it better be good!
