Gamer Temporarily Breaks Steam Level Icons as He Sets New Record

Records are meant to be broken and apparently so are systems that aren’t prepared for power users and game collectors. PalmDesert is already known for being among the top collectors within the Valve Steam platform, but he recently pushed his Steam level so far that he temporarily broke the icon system. Pushing past level 1000 created a glitch in his level icon, simply because Valve hadn’t implemented anything yet. Seems they didn’t expect people to reach that far that quickly. However, Valve were quick to fix this and add new level icons.
While that is a bit funny, the impressive thing is PalmDesert’s level, reaching over four digits and currently being level 1049 with over 5.5 million exp. It’s no surprise tho as he’s ranked in almost 1.2 million exp just during this summer sale, reaching batch level 11000 for the sale event.
He doesn’t just get all these levels and exp from badges such as the Sumer Sale 2016, he also has a massive game selection. He actually owns about half of Steam’s entire library with shi 5029 owned games and 3372 DLCs.
Even more impressive, at least to me, is that he doesn’t just buy the games, he actually plays them too. The 35-year-old gamer’s profile shows that he has an average game completion of 39%, 57 perfect games, and 8233 global achievements. The favourite game appears to be Rocksmith 2014 where he clocked 569 hours.
He describes himself as a gaming dude and I think that is a fair assessment. Also a congratulation from me on being the highest ranked gamer on Steam.
