I don’t think it’s exactly a secret that while Windows 10 is, generally speaking, a decent operating system, practically every time an update is released, Microsoft somehow finds a way to break something that previously was working perfectly. If you use your PC or laptop for gaming, then you might want to pay attention as following a growing number of user reports, many are complaining that the latest update to the operating system has resulted in a significant drop off in their performance!
Following a post initially created by user ‘u/m4ddan‘, more and more people have joined in citing similar experiences since updating Windows 10 to either KB5001330 or KB5001337. While seemingly impacting video game performance, the common factors are certainly more than enough to suggest a definite issue. Some of the problems since making the update include:
With a wide variety of system configurations from Intel, Nvidia, and AMD all being listed as having the same problem, the overwhelming consensus is that this is definitely a problem with the Windows 10 update.
So, presuming you have not yet installed the KB5001330 or KB5001337 update, the obvious advice at the moment is to politely ask Windows to not bother installing it for at least a little while. If you already have one of these versions, however, the simplest fix seems to be made in just rolling it back as many users have reported that after doing this, their gaming performance went back to normal.
So, I suppose the short version is, if you value your PC or laptops performance while may rocking out a little Warzone, you might want to avoid KB5001330 or KB5001337 for a while!
