Gamers With 3GB Graphics Cards Locked Out of Halo Infinite

Bad news for budget gamers still rocking a 1060 3GB, unfortunately, you can’t play Halo Infinite anymore after the recent Season 3 Update Echoes Within.
Bad News For Budget Gamers
Halo Infinites official minimum requirements were for cards with >4GB of VRAM and specifically the GTX 1050ti or AMD RX 570 which has been the same since it released back in 2021. Since release gamers with 3GB cards such as the 3GB variant of the NVIDIA GTX 1060, which outperforms the 4GB GTX 1050ti, have been playing it without issue and still getting an acceptable FPS in low settings but unfortunately with the latest season 3 update that has all changed.
Budget GPU Users Being Locked Out
Users on Reddit have been reporting that they are unable to play the game with 3GB cards and are being met with an error message saying that the game could not find a card with at least 4GB of video memory. This doesn’t make much sense as if the game was running fine for people on less than 4GB of VRAM then why all of a sudden now are they being locked out from the game?
This patch has only just been released so 343 Industries could very well change it in the coming weeks or if not i’ll imagine the community will find a way around this lock as the PC community usually has a good track record for finding solutions for these types of problems.
Are you still running a card with less than 4GB of VRAM? Let us know in the comments.
