The gaming community is eagerly anticipating Gamescom 2024, especially the Opening Night Live event, which is set to kick off on August 20th. Geoff Keighley, the event’s host and producer, has confirmed that the show will include “new game announcements,” adding excitement for fans who were concerned about a lack of fresh content.
Keighley reassured fans after listing several well-known titles that will appear during the presentation, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII. These titles are set to feature prominently, but Keighley emphasized that new, unannounced games will also be revealed during the event.
Last year’s Opening Night Live was more focused on updates for already-announced games, leading to some disappointment. However, this year promises a mix of updates and surprises. Sega, for instance, has teased the global premiere of a new, unannounced project alongside their new title Sonic X Shadow Generations.
The full event will run from August 20th to 25th, giving fans plenty of time to soak in all the announcements, updates, and surprises that Gamescom 2024 has to offer.
