Fortnite is one of the most popular free-to-play games out there, admittedly, it winds me up with its overabundance of gimmicks and in-game marketing campaigns, but hey, to each their own and all that jazz. The game does have a built-in best settings finder, which is great for those who don’t know what they’re doing.
Naturally, it did a lousy job, so I had to set ray tracing, refresh rate, and reflex modes on manually.
I set all the modes to Epic or their respective maximum and turned off any AA or resolution scaling technologies.
I was actually really shocked to see such a low FPS given I’m only running at 2560×1440 but Fortnite takes a lot to max out it seems, especially with the ray tracing options on and scaling off.
Turning on some DLSS didn’t really fix it, so it’s likely a hangup in the more advanced settings.
However, just defaulting to the High profile actually did the trick nicely, and in terms of visuals, the game looks broadly the same to my eyes, and certainly ran a lot smoother!
