Gaming in Style With the noblechairs Footrests

Performance

The noblechairs footrests were designed for desktop PC use. They’re literally made to be the counterpart to the noblechairs range. However, when I reached out to noblechairs, I told them I wanted to do something a little bit different. Who knows, maybe I’ll open them up to a new range of product ideas, we shall see. Without a doubt, the footrests look absolutely fantastic, and the quality of the products really shines.

As I said before, you can adjust the angle of each footrest. With them lowered, you can hang your legs over it in a fairly normal seating position. This angle helps take the weight off of your legs by distributing it evenly over the rest. It’s a lot more comfortable than just sitting with your knees at 90 degrees. Of course, if you lift the angle up, you can increase the support to make it fully flat and get properly laid back with your feet up.

Easily Adjusted

The base of the rests can be pointing anywhere, it doesn’t matter as they’re balanced X shapes. However, the footrest can be spun 360-degrees, so there’s no need to lift the whole thing to turn it. Just get your foot on the corner and give it a push to turn. Or you can use your hands if you can be bothered sitting up to do so.

I’m actually surprised how well they fit up to the couch too. It was a gamble, but one that’s clearly paid off. I make no excuses, I looked at the cost of a set of reclining couches, and £1000 would just about be a starting point for something half decent. At around £110 a pop, the noblechairs footrests basically convert my couch in minutes. Of course, as a bonus they’ll also work with the Noblechairs gaming chairs we have in the same room.

Feet Up Folks, It’s Party Time!

For movie night, they worked just as well as I had hoped. Ok, that’s not a movie, it’s actually season 3 of Killjoys, but the end result is still epic comfort.

We’ve got one on each couch, and when the kids aren’t trying to fight us for possession of them, they’re a great way to kick back and relax. And yes, that’s mine and my partners’ feet, sorry for spoiling your lunch.

For gaming, little changes. I still have my feet up. However, before I would typically lay on the couch, or slouch. Worse, I would sit with my feet under me. In regards to posture and back problems, the way I was sitting before was not good for me at all. However, now that I can sit up with proper back support, and put my feet up. Well, it’s a freaking huge improvement, let’s put it that way. Now we can play PC and console games on the big screen, with Dolby Atmos, HDR, 4K and all those lovely acronyms we desire, and still be as comfortable as we would in our gaming chairs… actually far more comfortable than that.

The good thing about this system is that the footrests are far more movable than the footrest component of a reclining sofa would be. This means we can put two together, move them out of the way, move them closer/further away, and more. That flexibility is really a huge advantage to this kind of setup.

What About Desktop Gaming?

Of course, they fit under the desk pretty well too. I must admit, that a deeper desk or open desk would fair even better. It does mean I can’t quite put my chair fully under the desk when not in use. No big deal though, as I simply take the footrest over to the couch and continue to enjoy the footrest. Again, it’s great for both the desktop and the couch. However, we do have our gaming PCs just a few feet away from the couch. If your PC is in another room, moving the footrest could be annoying.

Still, with my chair reclined, my feet on the rest under the desk, it’s perfect for grabbing a controller, kicking back, and enjoying Elder Scrolls Online. Yes, I play PC games with a controller, I get more than my fill of keyboard time with work and my tired little fingers need a break.

Out With The Old

My Amazing footrest has served me well, it was a whole £15 from Amazon last year. It’s pretty lousy, to be honest, but it does help a bit with ergonomics. When you’re at your desk 12 hours or more a day, every little helps.

In With The New!

The noblechairs footrest is a very sexy replacement though. I mean, just look at it, obviously better than that plastic trash I had before!
