Gearbox Software Confirms A New Game Title is in the Pipelines

Gearbox Software, the developers behind a number of chart topping games including Borderlands 2 and Brothers In Arms have announced that they have a new game in the pipelines which is being brought together in conjunction with publisher 2K Games.
Designed as a game of many elements, Battleborn is “a fusion of first-person shooting and loot-grabbing RPG elements in a living comic book art style”, with a 5 player co-op layout, but with an FPS type game play. Made to look like a comic-style game, Gearbox say this is the most ambitious game that they have ever created and when it finally gets released, most likely between April next year and March 2016, it will feature elements of game play from other hit titles such as DOTA 2 and LOL, giving us a fast paced game that is like no-other. What’s more, Gearbox plan to release it on the PC, Xbox One and Playstation platforms for every gamer to enjoy.
Randy Pitchford Gearbox’s President made a statement saying: “Battleborn’s story takes place in a distant future, the only hope for the last star in a dying universe is a new breed of warriors, who must put aside their differences to drive back an unstoppable menace. As a genre-fused, hobby-grade, co-operative and competitive FPS exploding with eye-popping style and an imaginative universe, Battleborn is the most ambitious video game that Gearbox has ever created”
With so many elements being pushed together from a number of game genres, it is no surprise that this is a very ambitious game title and although I’m no big gamer myself, I’m sure our resident game editor Pete will be interested in working his way through the game when it comes out possibly late next year.
