You sit down at your Xbox One, put the disc in the drive and get your controller, ready to play some Gears of War 4! Of course, you won’t be playing much of anything without the day-one patch, which clocks in at a whopping 11GB! That’s quite a bump given that the game is already 54.6GB in size, and it makes me wonder why we can still say a game has “gone gold”, they’re going bronze, silver at best when they send them to be mass-produced these days.
Those who pre-loaded the game digitally won’t have to worry, the patch is already built-in to that download. However, if you did pick up your copy at a retail store, then you’re going to have to sit tight while that 11GB downloads. For those of you with slow internet who favour retail discs to avoid big downloads, it’s certainly going to be a slap in the face.
Gears of War 4 launches on October 11th for Xbox One and PC, although Early Access opens on October 7th. Will you be playing the digital or the retail version of the game? Let us know in the comments section.
