Even though not that popular, portable monitors have been around, GeChic recently breaking the 13.3″ line with its own offering.
This fairly massive portable display does boast a 8mm thick frame, a resolution of 1366×768 and is connected through VGA or HDMI through a 30-pin adapter. DisplayPort is also available with an optional adapter. The monitor is powered through either USB or a separate battery pack.
This portable monitor’s main use is to provide an external display to smartphone, tablets and the likes. Setting it up is rather complex, so it’s best used for longer sessions, and it does comes at the cost of $199, not the cheapest, but not the most expensive additional display either.
