It appears that Galaxy has unveiled its GeForce GTX 780 Ti HOF graphics card at a press event in China as well as the GeForce GTX 760 Gamer series GPU at the same event. Galaxy is known for its HOF series which are designed to break world records and they are not made for an average user. The custom white PCB is just a teaser with killer specifications.
The Galaxy GeForce GTX 780 Ti HOF will feature a fully enabled GK110 GPU equipped with 2880 CUDA cores, 240 TMUs and 48 ROPs. It was pictured a week ago, revealing the same design that we saw with GeForce GTX 780 HOF. It comes with a custom white PCB with 10 phase VRM design consisting of IR3550 PowIRstage DrMOS chips and CHiL CHL8318 controller delivering a total current output of 480A. To deliver this much power to the circuitry, GeForce GTX 780 Ti HOF will draw power from two 8-pin PCIe power connectors.
Galaxy’s GTX 780 Ti HOF is also equipped with the same cooling solution featured on its younger sibling, GeForce GTX 780 HOF. A triple slot, dual fan heatsink comes with a large aluminium fin stack with thick 8 mm heatpipes passing through it. The clock speeds of the GPU are revealed but it will come with an insane factory overclock making it the fastest GTX 780 Ti out of the box. It will also support Galaxy’s additional power circuitry board for enthusiast who want to push the card to its limits.
Taking a look at the Galaxy GeForce GTX 760 Gamer Series, we were informed that it is the first product to be introduced in the new series with a completely new design and very high overclock out of the box. The GK104-225-A2 GPU features 1152 CUDA Cores, 96 TMUs and 28 ROPs. It comes with 2 GB GDDR5 memory with a 256-bit memory interface clocked at 6 GHz effectively. The GPU core is clocked at 1085 MHz with GPU Boost 2.0 up to 1150 MHz depending on the temperature and power. Galaxy GeForce GTX 760 Gamer series GPU is based on a custom designed PCB making use of a single 8-pin plus a 6-pin PCIe connectors for power. The VRM design is not revealed yet but in my opinion I expect it to have 8+2 phases.
The Gamer series cooler featured on the GPU comes with a large aluminium fin stack with heat pipes passing through it. The GPU is cooled by a pair of 80 mm ball bearing fans. The metal shroud houses “Gamer Series” branding in white while the base colour of the shroud is black with a grey touch at the front. Galaxy showed off the engineering sample at the press event without a back plate but the final retail version will also feature a black back plate.
No price has been revealed for both graphic cards, however rumor has it that the Galaxy GeForce GTX 780 Ti HOF is expected to launch early next year at a price range of $800 / €581 / £492 , while the Galaxy GeForce GTX 760 Gamer Series is coming in at a cheaper estimate of $300 / €218 / £184.
