GEIL Announces EVO X ROG-certified RGB Gaming Memory
Ron Perillo / 7 years ago
GEIL had a wide range of memory kits at their CES suite in January and their Computex booth back in June. One of them is the EVO X ROG-Certified RGB kit and it is finally available. As the name suggests, this is a module with special ASUS Republic of Gamers design. Although it retains the same shape of the regular Evo X, the heatspreader has that distinct RoG pattern.
Moreover, users can connect the 4-pin 12V RGB power cable to any ASUS motherboard and syncrhonize the colors with the rest of the system.
The GEIL EVO X memory series can also be powered via a 9V/12V fan power source. It just plugs into any available motherboard fan header. The built in sliding hot switch enables users to cycle the color modes and to “program” the color from the cycle. Even after reboot, the memory remembers the selected color.
GEIL EVO X ROG Certified Compatibility
Users can choose between 16GB (8GBx2) or 32GB (8GBx4) capacities at 3000MHz. The CAS latency is at 15-17-17-35 with 1.35V. Furthermore, it is compatible with both X299 and Z270 systems. In terms of specific ASUS RoG compatibility, the EVO X RoG module works on the following:
