The packaging is very small and compact and gives a window view of one of the modules. The packaging also has what can only be described as tread marks from tyres, which if the name of Corsa is anything to go by, I’m feeling a bit worried, as I’m not a massive fan of Vauxhall/Opel Corsa’s in the first place, but it could just be a coincidence. Another aspect on the front worth noticing is the DBT logo, of which more information can be found here in relation to how it works in terms of eliminating early failure rates on their memory.
The rear of the packaging gives sufficient information as expected for a set of memory modules. On this side we see two windows that display the barcode stickers with relevant memory specifications including speed, timings and voltage of the modules. Also included is a sticker situated on the rear with all of the same information too.
Opening the packaging up reveals a small “CAUTION” leaflet which insists you read it “before unleashing the best” and simply explains about the SPD and voltage settings that have been implanted into the modules.
The modules as expected come snuggled up inside a plastic clamshell type packaging which hold them in place and give a full view on the modules.
The first thing you will notice about this particular memory is the colour, which is certainly unique and breaks the boundaries from the typical red, blue, black style modules that we’ve seen from other brands. As you’d normally see, their is a sticker in the middle which includes the GeIL and Evo Corsa logos printed upon it.
The second thing you’ll notice is the style of heatspreaders, which whilst they aren’t low profile, they don’t seem massively tall in comparison to other modules on the market. A clever idea that GeIL have implented into the heatspreaders is the word “EVO” which I’ll let you look at the image to see if you can notice it.
The other side of the modules carries on the green/yellow styling of the heatspreaders but includes a sticker with all of the relevant information as we’d normally see on memory modules.
Taking a closer look at the module sticker we find that the modules are 4GB PC3-17000 sticks, which timings of 10-11-11-30 and a voltage of 1.5V.
