As I anticipated the cooling performance did suffer a bit on these fans due to their reduced size. This cooling gap was higher at lower RPMs than it was at higher RPMs. At 1000RPM it was 4.2 degrees behind the best temperature while at 1500RPM it was only 2.5 degrees behind the best temperature.

The Gelid Slim 12 fans did redeem themselves quite significantly with acoustic performance. They were by far one of the quietest fans we had tested but obviously you have to balance in reduced performance to the fact you get better acoustics.
