Genius is a well-known brand in the peripherals market. Often I see them as a brand you see in a lot of retail stores, often with very attractive price tags. While that’s something that can make the PC enthusiast wince as they sit there with their premium headsets, keyboard and mice, it’s easy to forget that an absolutely huge part of the market, if not the biggest part, purchase more affordable products off the rack in the supermarket than they do from high-end audio brands.
So while many may overlook something like the new HS0935BT from Genius, we’re eager to take a look at it and find out just how much value for money you get on a tighter budget and take a look at what Genius have to offer to their customers.
“…the bluebooth function lets you easy connect the headset to other bluetooth devices such as iPhones, smart phones or tablet PC`s. If your device doesn`t have bluetooth, you can connect the headset by using the integrated 3.5 mm audio jack.” reads the Genius website.
Equipped with Bluetooth 4.1 for wireless connectivity, as well as a built-in microphone for hands-free calls, on-headset controls, and a built-in battery that offers up around 15 hours of use on a 3-hour charge. Not wanting to use it wirelessly? There’s support for 3.5mm cables too, so it’ll be compatible with virtually any headphone jack if you don’t have Bluetooth.

The box is pretty simple, with a huge window section showing off the actual headset design; always a welcome thing when looking at a product in a retail store.
Around the back, all the usual technical info, showing off the Bluetooth support, range, battery and adjustable design of the headset, but we’ll take a closer look at those in a moment.
In the box, you’ll find the headset of course, but also a protective carry case, a 3.5mm audio cable for wired use, and a USB to Micro-USB cable for charging the built-in battery.
