Get Ready for DOOM: The Board Game!

With more and more games getting the modern treatment, with remakes and HD treatments swarming the world there are often times and things you want to get that relate to your favourite games. With more and more games getting bigger and bigger fan bases it looks like DOOM may be the latest in a long string getting the board game treatment.

Known for their board games, Fantasy Flight Games has announced that the latest video game to hit your tabletop. With a “completely redesigned tactical experience” the new board game is based on id and Bethesdas latest treatment of the popular franchise. With a history of board game conversions such as XCOM, Gears Of War and Warcraft, it looks to be a nice retelling of a classic story.

Supporting two to five players you’ll end up with one of your friends taking control of the monsters from hell while up to four players will tackle the legions as UAC marines. With grids and dice combined with cards and abilities players will have a tough time taking down everything from the floating eyeballs to the infamous blocking doors.

With objectives beyond “getting the keycard” players will have to face off against hordes as they race to finish one of 12 included missions. While the game will be a little harsh for players as the “Marines will be able to respawn a few times before going down for good”.
