Just a short while after their last driver drop, Nvidia is back with a new driver with more game support. The key features of release 368.39 are to bring game ready support for Mirrors Edge Catalyst and Edge of Nowhere. In addition to adding support for the just released titles, Nvidia has bundled in some fixes as well.
The biggest fix is of course to the reference GTX 1080 Founders Edition graphics cards. Those models suffered from a fan revving issue, something you don’t want for a $699+ card. This means the GTX 1070 which is launching with a similar cooler will likely not face the same issue. Other fixes include no longer hanging when the system is transitioning to sleep, eliminate stuttering in Total War: WARHAMMER and fix video stuttering in the new Edge browser.
As evidenced by the known issues page, Nvidia still has a lot of work to do make sure everything is working smoothly. Just like AMD, multi-GPU solutions are a pain, with SLI taking up a large portion of the issues.
Finally, we also have support added for the GTX 1070 as well as VRWorks. We’re also getting a host of new and updated SLI profiles. You can find the full release notes here and the drivers here.
