EA gets a lot of stick from gamers these days, and it’s understandable given that the company comes across as a soulless machine for squeezing money out of consumers. However this much is true of most companies and gamers seem quick to forget that companies like EA owe us nothing, sucks but it’s true. Of course every now and then, after having our wallets beaten, our games ruined and our online experiences poorly coded, EA and their not so loved Origin service like to give something back and today I think the freebie is a pretty cool one, Wing Commander 3.
That classic semi-point and click adventure / space simulator is a throw back to when the PC used to offer some very unique and creative experiences. The game features a pretty awesome cast, full voice acting and is a massive dose of retro fun.
Don’t forget that Wing commander is the series created by Chris Roberts, the guy who is working on the games spiritual successor, Star Citizen, something that is going very well since the new game raised just short of $50 million in crowd funding.
So what are you waiting for, jump back in time and see what all the fuss was about! Just head on over to the Origin client or web store and you’ll see the “on the house” banner.
