Ghost Recon Breakpoint Performance Analysis – 24 GPUs Tested

PC Performance Benchmarks

So, we’ve tried to cover just about every bracket for GPU performance. Of course, testing all the CPU configurations too would just be an enormous task. As such, we’ve used our standard GPU test bench with the i9-9900K (stock clocks). This is done to remove any bottlenecks from the GPU, and well, it works.

As you might expect, the big and expensive cards are the fastest and the cheaper cards are slower [insert dramatic music]. However, we did notice a few interesting things going. For starters, the RTX 2060 Super managed to beat the 2070 and 2080 Super at 1440p. We retested this a lot, and it simply doesn’t make sense. There is some margin for error with the benchmark tool still being listed as “beta”. It seems to be a stutter at the start of the benchmark.

1080p

For 1080p gaming, it seems pretty much every card did quite well. Only three cards dropped below 60 FPS. However, since we used High settings across the board, dropping to medium settings is perfectly possible at this resolution. For high refresh rate gaming, anything from the Radeon 5700 XT or the RTX 2060 will more than get the job done too.

1440p

Amazingly, quite a few older cards scored close to 60 FPS or over. The RX 570 was just under, and the RX 570 and GTX 1060 just behind that. Again, that’s pretty damn close for the age of the cards. Dropping the to medium settings would get these very much playable at 1440p. However, Anything from a GTX 1070 Ti or RX 590 will do for 60 FPS gameplay.

2160p

4K gamers are certainly going to have a harder time of it. Using high settings, the oldest card to break 60 FPS was the GTX 1080, and even that was a high-end AORUS edition. Other than that, the RTX 2060 Super, RTX 2070, 2070 Super, 2080 Ti, etc are the only ones getting the big numbers. The RX 5700XT ran out of steam at 44 FPS. However, it’ll get around 60 FPS if you use medium quality settings. Make no mistake though, the game is drop-dead gorgeous at these settings, if you’re a graphics junkie, it’ll give you a good fix.
