Ghost Recon Wildlands Open Beta Starts Today

For those who are looking for something new to play, the Ghost Recon Wildlands open beta started today, which will give gamers a chance to get hands on with the latest addition to the Ghost Recon series.

This latest addition has been a long time in the making, and will hopefully get the series back on track after the disaster that was Ghost Recon Phantoms. Phantoms was originally called Ghost Recon Online in the beta phase, and was aimed at providing an online only experience, it did however fail to meet Ubisoft’s expectations and was officially shut down in December 2016.

Wildlands takes the series back to its roots, providing a story mode that can be completed solo or along with others. It is also the first in the series to feature an open world environment. Just looking at the games available today, we tend to see a lot of survival games, copy/paste Indy games and a whole series of FPS games. There’s certainly room for a tactical, take-your-time type game in the market and Wildlands certainly looks like it’s going to be great.

The open beta started today and will continue up until the 27/02/17, and if you missed out on the closed beta, Ubisoft had this to say;

“this Open Beta features all of the same content found in the Closed Beta and more, including an additional province to explore called Montuyoc. Set in the Bolivian Altiplano region, this province contains heavily defended strongholds where the Santa Blanca trains some of its toughest soldiers.”

There will also be bonus content for those who have played either the closed or open beta, and purchase and play the game before the 31/03/17, Ubisoft stated;

As a special bonus, if you participated in the closed beta or the open beta – and start up the retail version of Ghost Recon Wildlands before March 31 on the same Ubisoft account – you’ll also gain access to the special “Unidad Conspiracy” reward, which includes three exclusive missions that features a brewing conflict between the local Unidad military and the Santa Blanca.”

Wildlands is definitely a game you should be trying out, and if you’ve never played any games in the series before, this might be that new game you’ve been looking for, head over to the Ubisoft site and follow the instructions to get yourself into the open beta.
