Gigabyte released two GTX 1080 with 11Gbps and only one GTX 1060 9Gbps several days ago for their AORUS line of high-end gaming devices. They now have added one more GTX 1060 9Gbps that has received the AORUS Xtreme Edition treatment, with severely upgraded components, higher quality parts and higher out-of-the-box clock speeds.
The originally released AORUS GTX 1060 9Gbps (part number: GV-N1060AORUS-6GD) is dual-slot height unit with three 90mm Windforce fans operating at 1607 MHz base clock that boosts up to 1835 MHz in gaming mode and is pushed even further in OC mode running with 1632 MHz base clock that boosts up to 1860 MHz. The new Xtreme Edition AORUS GTX 1060 9Gbps (part number: GV-N1060AORUS X-6GD) video card on the other hand is a 2.5 slot height video card with larger 100mm Windforce 2x blade fans, copper base plate and pre-binned GPUs. This results in higher overclocks out of the box with 1620 MHz base clock that boosts up to 1847 MHz in Gaming mode and 1645 MHz base clock that boosts up to 1873 MHz in OC mode. The reference GTX 1060 in comparison, only has a core clock of 1506 MHz that boost up to 1708 MHz.
The AORUS GeForce GTX 1060 Xtreme Edition 6G 9Gbps has three DisplayPorts, one HDMI 2.0, and one DVI connector in the rear. It also has two additional HDMI 2.0 ports at the front area. This allows users to connect up to four monitors and/or VR devices at the same time, totaling three native HDMI ports, and three Displayports that can be mixed and matched in various configurations.
As usual, the AORUS Xtreme Edition GTX 1080 9Gbps has RBG LED capability that is controllable via Gigabyte’s RGB fusion app, has corrossion resistant PCB coating, power LED indicators, and high-end components used on its 6+1 phase VRM design. It comes with a 3-year warranty that can be extended to 4-years upon registration on the AORUS website.
