How Much Does it Cost?

The AORUS MO34WQC2 is priced competitively within the premium OLED gaming monitor market. You can expect to find it for around £718.99. While not exactly budget-friendly, it’s important to consider the cutting-edge technology and features you’re getting for your money. You’re paying a premium for OLED, you’re paying a premium for the 240Hz refresh rate, and you’re paying a premium for the massive 34″ ultrawide panel, so all in, I think it’s very competitive with the similarly priced and equipped LG UltraGear and MSI MPG series of OLED monitors.

Overview

The AORUS MO34WQC2 is a seriously impressive gaming monitor that delivers exceptional performance and visuals. Its QD-OLED panel, combined with the high refresh rate and resolution, makes for an immersive and responsive gaming experience. Content creators will also appreciate the wide colour gamut and accurate colour reproduction. Of course, they also have just as strong benefits for users watching movies, enjoying gaming, or just watching YouTube. While there are a few minor quirks with the OSD and HDR modes, the overall package is fantastic, and it has fewer awkward quirks than most of the OLEDs I’ve ever tested; the lack of a wheezing fan in the back is a big advantage.

Resolution

The 3440×1440 resolution on a 34-inch ultrawide display is a great sweet spot. It provides ample screen real estate for productivity and gaming while maintaining a sharp and detailed image. The 21:9 aspect ratio is also perfect for immersive gaming and widescreen movie viewing. Plus, even when there are black borders, because it’s OLED, they’re totally black, so you don’t get the backlight glow as you would on an LCD/IPS panel.

Refresh Rate

The 240Hz refresh rate is incredibly smooth and responsive, making fast-paced games feel incredibly fluid. While it may be challenging to consistently hit 240fps in the latest AAA titles, even at lower frame rates, the monitor’s adaptive sync technology ensures a tear-free and enjoyable experience. For me personally, I am happy hitting anything around 120 FPS and anything above that is a bonus, but of course, that’s just me. What really sells me on this panel is the response time, at just 0.03ms, it feels telepathically fast, and going back to my 1ms IPS, you can feel it… even if you wouldn’t think that would be noticeable, it is.

Gaming

The MO34WQC2 excels at gaming. The combination of a high refresh rate, low response time, and vibrant colours creates a truly immersive and responsive experience. I would have liked a more in-depth set of options for HDR on the monitor though, there are sometimes I just want to tweak the brightness a little on an evening. However, for playing games like Final Fantasy XVI, Black Ops 6, Halo and any other modern AAA game that supports HDR, the end result is simply jaw-dropping, no IPS can compete with this level of image quality and colour.

OLED

The benefits of OLED technology are on full display here. The perfect blacks, infinite contrast, and vibrant colours, all add up to a next-gen experience. While burn-in concerns are understandable, the monitor’s built-in OLED Care technology and generous warranty should provide peace of mind, and just simple practices like auto-hiding your taskbar, using a black wallpaper, or an all-black screen saver are typically all that’s needed these days to keep it in tip-top condition.

Extra Features

Gigabyte has packed the MO34WQC2 with extra features that enhance its usability and functionality. The KVM switch is a great addition for multi-device setups, and the Game Assist tools can provide a competitive edge with the crosshairs (much more useful than you might think if you’ve never enabled them). The extensive connectivity options ensure compatibility with a wide range of devices, and the built-in speakers are pretty decent too.

Should I Buy One?

If you’re looking for a premium OLED gaming monitor with a high refresh rate and resolution, the AORUS MO34WQC2 is an excellent choice. It delivers exceptional performance, stunning visuals, and a comprehensive feature set. While the price may be a barrier for some, it’s still competitive when you consider the level of technologies within. The investment is worth it for serious gamers and content creators who demand the best. Frankly, I’m reluctant to see it go, and it’s going on my list of contenders for my next monitor upgrade.
