Gigabyte BRIX GB-XM11-3337 System Review

Temperature testing was done by recording the average idle temperature after a 10 minute idle desktop period. This is then followed by measuring the average maximum CPU temperature from a 10 minute Prime95 burn in. All temperatures were recorded in a room with a stable ambient of 22 degrees.

I was surprised to see a much more power hungry (relative to the Celeron 847) and powerful CPU end up with the same load temperatures and lower idle temperatures. Clearly the extra venting on the Gigabyte BRIX gives it a minor thermal advantage over the Intel NUC. Just like the Intel NUC the Gigabyte BRIX was close to silent and even with the fans are 4000 RPM upwards you can’t really hear that much from them.
