Mike Sanders / 3 years ago
Gigabyte has formally announced that all of its current AIO liquid coolers lineup and tower fans will support the new upcoming AMD Ryzen 7000 AM5 socket platform. Following confirmation of a new AM5 socket kit and general product compatibility, this will look to provide users with the optimal CPU heat dissipation and hands-down system upgrade without the need of changing coolers.
Gigabyte Confirms AM5 Support on its CPU Coolers!
Following extensive testing, Gigabyte has confirmed that all of their current series of AIO liquid coolers lineup and tower coolers (of which in the latter there is admittedly only one), that these can provide the optimal thermal performance to the new AM5 platform. For users who have bought GIGABYTE coolers or tower fans designed for multi-platforms, no change or adjustment will be needed to suffice the new platform.
As part of the news, Gigabyte has confirmed AM5 support on the following models:
- AORUS WATERFORCE X 360
- AORUS WATERFORCE X 280
- AORUS WATERFORCE X 240
- AORUS WATERFORCE 360
- AORUS WATERFORCE 280
- AORUS WATERFORCE 240
- AORUS LIQUID COOLER 360
- AORUS LIQUID COOLER 280
- AORUS LIQUID COOLER 240
- Tower Fan ATC800
Some Confusion
Although this does, on the surface, seem like excellent news, the announcement by Gigabyte is more than a little unclear in terms of people who already own their CPU coolers. Based on their comments, it would appear that the existing socket solutions provided will allow for AM5 support without the need for any new attachments. There is, after all, no mention of any adaptor kits, or, indeed, how to apply for one. – Putting this to one side though, people looking to purchase one of these solutions moving forward can at least do so with the knowledge that AM5 support should be ready to go!
Given the confusion regarding this point, however, we have contacted Gigabyte and will look to update this when we get some news. – In the meantime, you can learn more about Gigabyte’s CPU cooling solutions via the link here!
