Ryzen has been with us a couple of weeks now, and with sales of the new chipsets and their accompanying motherboards off to a flying start, it’s clear the market was ready for some new blood. There is one glaring omission from the AM4 range, however, as there are still no Mini-ITX motherboards on the market for those eager for smaller form factor builds.
The good news is that Gigabyte is already working on a new Mini-ITX motherboard for AM4, which will feature the popular B350 chipset. For those who don’t know, all Ryzen chips are unlocked and overclockable, and the X370 and B350 chipsets are what allow the overclocking, so this new board should be perfect for those who want to unlock the full potential of their CPU.
There are no pictures of the boards, yet, but we do have some lovely leaked slides, suggestions that the board will have plenty of features. You can expect Ultra Durable hardware, such as metal shields on the PCIe slot, built-in ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, RGB lighting, Smart Fan 5, UEFI DualBIOS, and more!
As with most AM4 boards, you’ll find dual DDR4 slots, USB 3.1 Gen 2 and Type-C support. Audio is coming from the Realtek ALC 1220 HD chipset, while the Realtek GbE LAN deals with networking.
No details on release date, but with Ryzen 5 coming very soon, we expect these boards will launch on or around the same time as the new chips.
