Gigabyte Force H3X Gaming Headset Review

A Closer Look

The headset comes hard-wired with a 2m long flat-style tangle free cable.

There are two gold-plated 3-pole 3.5mm jacks; perfect for desktop PC use.

The H3X comes equipped with a hard-wired in-line controller, where you’ll find a microphone on/off switch and a simple volume slider.

There is a shirt clip around the back, ideal for keeping the controller within reach while gaming.

As I said before, the headset is hard-wired and its flat cable connects to the left ear cup.

The back of each ear cup is treated with a tinted chrome finish. It looks great, but it is prone to fingerprints; this is why Gigabyte include a microfibre cleaning cloth.

The padding on the ear cups is super soft and there is more than enough space for them to fit over your ears. The driver is mounted on a pivot that should allow for a better fit.

Each side of the headband has a durable extender to help provide a better fit.

A nice feature is that the microphone hides stealthily out of the way when not in use; you can simply pull it out from the base of the left ear cup.

Here you can better see the chome-like finish, I can just make out a glimpse of my NZXT H440 and my purple carpet in the reflection.

The headband is quite slim at the top, but there is soft padding all the way across; almost reaching from one ear cup to the other.

The top part of the headband is made of durable feeling plastics with a matte finish.

You can bend and twist the headband quite significantly and the headset doesn’t feel like it’s going to break. This is good news for those who like to throw their headset into their backpack; it should survive a few knocks and bumps with ease.

The top of each ear cup can be folded inwards, great for reducing the storage space needed for the headset. Fold the ear cup back out and it’ll snap into place, ready for use.

Fold both down and you’ll find the headset is a lot more compact and very easy to store.

Folding it away is handy, but it’s even better if you use the included carry pouch, as it’ll prevent the shiny finish on the ear cups from getting scuffed.
