Noise
During idle conditions, the graphics card utilises a 0dB fan mode which means it’s completely silent and the only noise you will hear stems from other components. Under load, the noise output remains decent but it’s certainly louder than other premium cooling solutions. This is somewhat disappointing and I’d like to see a more gentle fan curve used because the temperatures remain low, which I’ll go on to discuss very soon.
Power Consumption
As you might expect, the GTX 1080 is incredibly efficient and hardly consumes any power even when paired with an X99 testing rig.
Temperatures
The Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1080’s cooling solution is brilliant and the GPU core is well under the card’s thermal limits.
