This is a very nice looking monitor, and while there are subjectively better looking monitors on the market in terms of image quality, they simply cost more money. However, for a little over £200, this is going to be hard to beat. The IPS panel gives it great viewing angles, and the colours really pop here too, with the trade off being a lower contrast ratio, but that’s to be expected on a mid-level IPS monitor.

What is surprising is just how fast it feels for an IPS, with a 1ms response time it’s pretty switch and you can tinker with the overdrive setting to find what best suits your taste, but I was happy with it on the defaults.

144Hz is plenty fast for some serious gaming, and while you can get higher refresh rate monitor (again, for more money), I find as long as I’m between at least 100-150 FPS/Hz, I’m pretty happy, but of course, that’s just my preference. The display is great for a fast paced gaming session in competitive shooters, driving games, etc.

The HDR mode is a bit crap, but honestly, that was to be expected, and HDR doesn’t really get interesting on PC monitors until there’s a more advanced backlighting tech, so while you get a slightly wider colour gamut, the contrast isn’t there to make it impactful.

That being said, the SDR performance it really fantastic, and I’m sure my display analysis results on the next page will confirm what my eyes can see.

Overall, it’s a fast panel, the colours are good, and it ticks all the boxes for having a great time gaming. Of course, at 2560×1440, the resolution is perfect for a 27″ panel, and best of all, you don’t need a flagship gaming PC to get to 2560×1440 at 144Hz even on the latest games these days, and through testing, it seems to be have Native FreeSync support, but is also G-Sync compatible.
