Right out of the box, the monitor delivers excellent colour reproduction, hitting 95% of the DCI-P3 colour scale, which is better than the 92% that Gigabyte had claimed.
The default gamma settings are pretty terrible, and it resulted in crushed black levels and a weird glossy shine to the image, I suggest you change this setting immediately.
There are five gamma settings on the monitor, largely they’re terrible, with the exception of “gamma 2” which near perfectly hit our target of gamma 2.2, and improved image quality dramatically.
The stock settings resulted in a bigger grey ramp deviance too.
But with gamma 2, the deviance is smaller, and much closer to our ideal 6500K target.
Brightness is good though, with the monitor delivering good black levels with the brightness under 50%, and a peak brightness of 370+ at 100%, naturally, I suggest leaving it somewhere around 50% for the best results, I personally settled on about 65%, but your room lighting conditions will vary the results somewhat.
Overall colour reproduction is great, but so too is the overall accuracy, with an average Delta-E of just 1.28, which is exceptional.
