Gigabyte G5 KD 15.6″ RTX 3060 Gaming Laptop Review

A Closer Look Continued
Opening the laptop up, we can finally see where all the magic happens. There’s a gorgeous 15.6″ IPS Full-HD display. 1920 x 1080 is a good resolution for this screen size, so the image is nice and sharp overall. Plus, with a 144 Hz refresh rate, your mouse pointer glides like silk… or ya know, it’s good for gaming too. Tucked into the top of the screen, there’s a small HD webcam, as well as a pair of pin-hole dual-array microphones.
The speakers are hidden from sight, venting through the sides, but are a pair of 2-watt speakers, with DTS:X Ultra processing. they’re actually pretty potent, and while I’ll likely be using my headphones, they’ll get the job done in a pinch.
The keyboard looks fantastic, and despite only being a 15.6″ laptop, Gigabyte has made a solid effort to get a full-size keyboard in here without compressing it too heavily. That navigation keys are now part of the numberpad, but otherwise, all the good stuff is here.
This being a laptop, many functions can be controlled using the Fn-Shift key. There are screen and keyboard brightness controls, Bluetooth, WiFi, Flight mode and more all built into the keyboard.
The keyboard features a single-colour blue LED backlighting rather than RGB, which is fine with me, it looks nice enough and is easy to read in a bright or dark room. The keyboard feels good too, using a fairly familiar chicklet switch design, but it has a nice quality feel to it and it’s nice and quiet too.
The touchpad is a good size, with multi-touch, so you can pinch to zoom, two fingers to scroll, etc, and there are proper buttons for the mouse too, which is great, or you can fast-tap the pad to click too if you prefer.
