Looking at a budget board like this isn’t something that I honestly put my hands up and start shouting about, but that’s because I’m an enthusiast, so I want to see the stuff that not many can afford, and only the select will actually get, but that’s not to say that a board like this doesn’t excite me, as it still very much does.
There is a lot to offer with the Z77M-D3H, and sadly a lot of it I can’t mention, and that pains me, as all I want to do more than anything right now, is to share these secrets with our loyal readers, but sadly that will have to wait for another day, but in all honesty, it’s worth it and we know that a lot of you can already pinpoint some of the main features from rumours but we can’t be seen to condone any of this rumours so for now will keep quiet.
The board simply goes to show that the latest technologies can be moulded onto a Micro ATX board and still offer room to breathe. The board is very low profile when looking around the CPU socket and offers great functionality for a budget board, with USB 3.0 capabilities on the rear I/O and natively. PCI-Express x16 is available with the extra added features of AMD CrossFireX being on tap, though if you don’t want to go down this route, you still have VGA, DVI or HDMI to choose from when looking at the processors iGPU.
The only thing we can look forward to further with this board, is not only the new 3rd generation 22nm processors, but the price. A board like this would be perfect for a HTPC or a system integrator, wanting a simple solution that offers no frills, but does the job it was set out to do, and does it well.
We still have to think about the extra functionality that this board may have that we can’t comment to much on, including the extra 3D BIOS features and of course overclockability, but I can honestly tell you, as our loyal readers that it’s definitely something worth waiting for.
All we can say at this point, is that if you love Intel and Gigabyte, this is one board that may look to be simple and not offer much from the outside, but when the NDA lifts, we will show you what it can really do.
