Final Thoughts

How Much Does it Cost?

Pricing cards right now is tricky, as it’s a few weeks after launch and Black Friday is in full swing. However, we’ve seen it on Amazon from £523.97 to £597.29. I’d be more wanting to pay £550 or less, as the higher specification “gamer” type cards such as the Aorus models can be grabbed for just under £600.

Overview

This is one of the most basic RTX cards we’ve reviewed since the launch of the chipset. That’s not to dismiss what Gigabyte has created, but not every card needs to be factory overclocked to hell, with a massive cooler and a whopping price tag. This offers plenty of features, reliable performance, and great build quality, without a huge price premium. That being said, if you spend more, you can get a faster RTX 2070, but your budget is your budget.

Performance

I’m actually surprised just how close this card performed to the more “premium” RTX 2070 series cards. It was typically just a few FPS behind the rival cards in all our benchmarks. For gaming at 1080p and 1440p with very high graphics settings, it’ll more than get the job done. You’ll want to dial the profiles back for 4K gaming, but it’s still pretty capable there too if you have the need for it. Personally, I would favour the RTX 2080 and Ti for 4K gaming, but they require you to save more pocket money and raid the couch cushions for a fair bit of change to purchase.

Build Quality

The white cooler design, combined with the white backplate, certainly give this card a fair bit of style. If you’re building an all-white component PC, aesthetics are important for you. For that market, I can see this being a popular card, and it’s one of the most affordable white RTX cards out there too. The cooler design also sticks to a two-slot design, while many of the extreme cards are 2.5 and even 3 slots deep. However, the cooler still does a great job, and it’s quiet too. That was reflected in our overclocking test, which saw some very respectable improvements in the cards performance.

Should I Buy One?

If you’re after one of the cleanest looking and most affordable RTX 2070 cards on the market, this is the one for you. It looks great, the performance is competitive, and in the case of our sample, it overclocked pretty well too.
