Gigabyte Goes All Out for PCIe 4.0 Storage at Computex 2019

Gigabyte PCIe 4.0
With PCIe 4.0 on the horizon thanks to the AMD Ryzen 3rd Gen CPUs and X570 motherboards, it’s time for some seriously fast storage drives. The new M.2 drive from Gigabyte features the new Phison controller. This means their M.2 2280 drive can delivery speed of up to 5000 MBs read, and 4400 MBs write. It’ll be available in 2TB, although we suspect they make release other sizes.
What makes this one stand out, however, is the double sided all copper heat sink. It doesn’t look pretty, but it does stand out. This isn’t about RGB and aesthetics though. They’ve built it to out perform the competition, and I suspect it may just do that. However, they can go even faster with their next drive. Scroll down!
Aorus AIC Gen4 SSD 8TB
If you fancy dropping a few kidneys on some real storage, we have this massive PCIe NVMe SSD. It’s basically a monster sized RAID card that’s capable of pulling some seriously big performance figures. 15385 MBs read, with 15509 MBs write. That’s insane, and only a teaser of what we can expect to see as PCIe 4.0 hits the market. Obviously, consumers aren’t going to (typically) afford a card of this class, but who knows, one day this will be the norm.
