A Closer Look

The front of the Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti GHz Edition graphics card as I’ve already mentioned is a pretty standard looking Gigabyte graphics card. It uses the WindForce 450 VGA cooling solution with three 80mm fans, four 6mm copper heat pipes and two 8mm copper heat pipes. This same cooling solution is found on their R9 290X WindForce OC, GTX 780 GHz Edition and GTX 780 WindForce OC to name but a few.

Being a GHz Edition SKU this graphics card is given a backplate which has the GHz Edition branding. Strangely in most people’s case this will be upside down this is seemingly identical to the mistake that Gigabyte also made on the GTX 780 GHz Edition.

Despite the beastly cooling solution, massive overclock and backplate the card still squeezes into the dual slot form factor but is very long measuring in at 29cm or 11.5 inches.

The bottom is open to allow for the exhausting of hot air into the case.

The end exposes the majority of the heat pipes.

Taking a closer look we can see three 6mm and two 8mm copper heat pipes. A fourth 6mm heat pipe is routed towards the other end of the card so isn’t visible from this end.

Two SLI fingers support up to 4 Way SLI although as far as I know only 3 Way SLI is “officially” supported.

A pair of 8 pin PCIe connectors supply power to this beast.

Elaborating on my earlier point this is how the card would be viewed from most side panel windows in most conventional cases. As you can see all the writing looks upside down which is strange.

The rear I/O offers up a standard dual DVI, Display Port and HDMI. As this is an Nvidia GTX 7XX series card it will support up to 4 independent displays or three in Nvidia Surround with an accessory display.
