AMD Ryzen Master OC Tool Revealed

AMD Ryzen Master Overclocking Tool

Before the Ryzen launched this week, one of the rumours circling around was a new overclocking tool from AMD. Early reports suggested that it might be similar to the universal AMD Radeon Settings and WattMan overclocking tools. Luckily for us, a new screenshot of the new Ryzen overclocking tool has been leaked out ahead of launch.

Dubbed Ryzen Master, the new in-house overclocking tool offers a universal overclocking tool for Ryzen no matter the motherboard partner. From the UI design, we can see that it takes a lot of cues from the new Radeon Settings and Radeon WattMan. It’s a massive upgrade from what was previously available with AMD OverDrive which was harder to use and offered less control.

To notable feature I love are per core clock adjustment, enabling or disabling cores. If this feature extends to mobile Ryzen, it could help stretch the battery life when needed. Other controls are fine grained MHz control, CPU, IMC voltage, CAS latency and other various overclocking related features. There should also be control over XFR, the new automated enhanced turbo boost.

With the new dedication to the software side from AMD, we will hopefully see continuous updates for Ryzen Master. I for one welcome an improved official tool that can compete with the various motherboard specific tools. While I won’t have to relearn each software overclocking suite, nothing beats tweaking straight from the BIOS.
