Gigabyte GTX 780 WindForce OC Review

Overclocking

Overclocking was pretty sweet with the Gigabyte GTX 780 WindForce OC. If you consider that 954MHz vs the reference 863MHz is already a 10.5% increase then the 1054MHz we achieved stable without any voltage tweaking is a 22% boost over the reference Nvidia clockspeeds and a 10.5% increase over Gigabyte factory overclock speeds.

How did that overclock translate into performance? It did decently well in 3DMark11 where we saw about a 6% boost over our original score at this card’s default clock speeds. Our results show an overclocked Gigabyte WindForce GTX 780 is quite some way ahead of an overclocked GTX 770 – around 20% faster – which is mainly down to the use of the GK110 GPU in the GTX 780 vs the GK104 in the GTX 770.
