Gigabyte introduces their version of the Intel NUC with a Core i7 CPU

Gigabyte has taken Intel’s 4″ x 4″ NUC mini desktop system to another level by putting few more features in – the  Core i3 has been swapped for a Core i7, the casing is now aluminium and there are added vents on the rear for improved cooling.

The company showcased a prototype with a Core i7 processor, 8GB of memory,a  256GB SSD, USB 3.0, HDMI input/output, Ethernet and Wi-Fi.

Intel introduced the NUC unit in November with a Core i3 and integrated HD 4000 Intel graphics.

This is only a prototype, but if Gigabyte can roll these out en masse, I am sure many people would be interested in this.
