GIGABYTE Intros GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER MAX with Discreet 12VHPWR Connector

Gigabyte has had great success with their WindForce series, having spanned many generations of graphics cards, it’s competitive prices and performance have been a big win with consumers. However, Gigabyte are looking to kick things up a notch with a new version which features a stealthy 12VHPWR connector. Of course, this will have two benefits, one is that the bulky 12VHPWR cable will be hidden out of sight, and secondly that it’ll mount in such a way that it’ll reduce unwanted melt-inducing bending in the cable.

The new card is the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER WindForce MAX graphics card. It comes with the fairly typical WindForce cooler design, which features a triple fan cooling solution, where the middle fan spins in the opposite direction to the outer fans. The card measures in at 33.1 cm x 13.6 cm x 5.55cm (triple slot), so it’s still a big boy, but the power cable is no longer facing out the side of the card.

The power connector is pointing towards the end of the card on the tail of the PCB, but the PCB is only about 2/3rd the length of the heatsink, so it’s able to side below the end fan, which is good, as I guess that’ll actively cool the cable too, which couldn’t hurt.

With three 100mm fans, a huge aluminium heatsink, 9 copper heatpipes, and a large contact plate, this should be a great performing card. Furthermore, Gigabyte has been able to push a factory overclock, so the card runs at 2655 MHz, compared to the 2610 MHz of the reference cards, but the memory speeds are left stock, so there may be room for you to OC them a bit more.

No word on pricing, but WindForce are usually priced at or around MSRP, so I wouldn’t expect anything too crazy.
